Service Disruptions

Elora Cataract Rail Trail – Upcoming Access Disruptions beginning October 30, 2024

The GRCA will be grooming the Elora Cataract Rail Trail beginning October 30, 2024 to improve and restore the trail surface. The work will be conducted by a contractor starting on either side of gates 10 and 11, then moving to between gates 14 and 15, and then moving west of Gate 21. It’s anticipated the work will be completed in seven days; however, timing may change depending on weather conditions. Barricades and signs will be up in the areas where work is being undertaken.

Notice of Herbicide Use:

Please be advised that Arkell Springs Smith will be closed to the public November 14-15. GRCA is applying herbicides to control invasive shrubs according to the Pesticides Act and Ontario Regulation 63/09 under the forestry exception. This disruption will remain in effect on the days the work is being completed. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to improve the health of our watershed.
